History

The „Emigration “Centre for Southtyroleans“ was founded in 1956.
In 1961 it was incorporated to the KVW.
The magazine „Heimat und Welt" was published for the first time in 1969.
The provincial government approves the law for the benefit of the Southtyroleans abroad in 1982. Finally the work for the emigrated was officially accepted and financially supported.
Over the years Southtyrolean associations above all in the German speaking areas were founded.
The 8th of March 2008 the centre of emigration was renamed in “Southtyroelans in the World”. Within the plenary meeting the new corporate logo and the mission statement were approved.
